What do I need to open an account?

A valid government-issued ID and a selfie. Depending on your country, you may also be asked for a national ID number. Verification usually takes about 5 minutes, and you only do it once. You won't be asked to repeat KYC every time you want to move your money.

How do I receive money from clients and platforms?

You get account details in your own name: an account number and routing number for USD, and an IBAN for EUR. Share them with your client or add them to your platform, and payments arrive through the normal bank rails; ACH or wire for USD, SEPA for EUR, and FPS for GBP. To your client it looks like an ordinary bank transfer; just have them check that the name and currency they enter match your details exactly, because matching names is what keeps payments from getting stuck.

What is an IBAN, and do I need one?

An IBAN is the account-number format Europeans use for transfers. walllet.com gives you an IBAN for receiving EUR and GBP; for USD you use an account and routing number instead, because that is what American clients and platforms expect. You don't need to request anything extra, the correct details for each currency are already on your account screen.

How long does a payment take to arrive?

It depends on the rail your client uses. FPS payments (GBP) usually arrive within minutes, SEPA (EUR) typically the same or next business day, ACH (USD) in one to three business days, and international wires in one to five business days. Weekends, sender-bank delays, a first payment from a new sender, or a payment that needs review can add time, and if a payment is late, support can trace it and tell you exactly where it is.

Will my account get frozen?

Accepted Answer

No. Your walllet is owner-controlled, so walllet.com does not hold or control the money in it and cannot freeze it. Your balance stays under your control. A bank transfer or partner-provided payment may still need review, but money already in your walllet cannot be frozen by walllet.com.

No. walllet.com is a financial technology company, not a bank. Your accounts, card and payments are provided through licensed partners.

How is my money secured?

You sign in with a passkey: your face, fingerprint or device unlock, on your device. There is no password to steal or phish, and no one else can move your money. Access to your account belongs to exactly one person: you.

Can I pay for tools like Figma, Google Ads or Netflix with the card?

Yes. The USD card is built for international merchants, including the ones that routinely decline local-currency cards, Google Ads, Netflix, Figma and similar tools. A small number of providers, including AWS and Azure, restrict virtual cards by policy, so for a critical payment check the merchant first; a few services may ask for another method.

Does it work with Upwork and other platforms?

walllet.com gives you US account details in your own name, the format platforms pay out to as a "US bank account." We are verifying payout routes platform by platform, so before you switch your payout details on Upwork, Fiverr, Contra, Toptal or Deel, message support and we'll tell you the current status for your platform.

What do I need to verify my bank account?

Accepted Answer

To activate your bank account, you provide your full name, mobile number, National ID number, address, date of birth, and photos of the front and back of a valid ID. You can use a National ID, driver’s licence, or passport. No OTP is sent to your mobile number during this step.

What do I need to verify my USD card?

Accepted Answer

To activate your USD card, you may need to complete a separate card verification. Depending on your country, this can include a national ID number. Card verification is separate from bank account verification, so it can be required even if your bank account is already active.

Do I need another verification to withdraw to local currency?

Accepted Answer

No separate identity verification is required for local-currency withdrawals. You can use the available withdrawal flow without completing an additional KYC step for that service.
