About the role
We are hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to improve the infrastructure, delivery systems and operational reliability behind walllet.com.
You will design and operate cloud environments, deployment pipelines, monitoring, secrets management, access controls, backup systems and incident-response tooling.
You will work with application engineers to improve how services are built, deployed and diagnosed. You will also help define reliability standards for systems that connect to financial and blockchain infrastructure.
This role requires practical engineering judgement. We need someone who knows when automation reduces risk, when an abstraction hides important behaviour and when a manual control is still appropriate.
What you’ll be doing
Designing, operating and improving production cloud infrastructure
Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with controlled, auditable deployments
Managing infrastructure through code
Improving logging, metrics, tracing, alerting and operational dashboards
Defining service-level indicators and reliability targets with engineering teams
Automating environment provisioning, configuration and routine operational tasks
Strengthening identity, access, secrets and key-management practices
Supporting secure networking and service-to-service communication
Improving backup, restoration and disaster-recovery procedures
Participating in incident response and writing useful post-incident reviews
Investigating performance, availability and deployment problems
Improving dependency, container and infrastructure vulnerability management
Supporting partner-integration monitoring and reconciliation workflows
Reducing unnecessary infrastructure cost without weakening reliability
Documenting runbooks, ownership and escalation paths
Coaching engineers on production readiness and operational responsibility
What you’ll need
At least 6 years of infrastructure, DevOps, SRE or platform-engineering experience
Strong experience with at least one major cloud platform
Production experience with containers and orchestration
Strong knowledge of infrastructure-as-code practices
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD systems
Working knowledge of Linux, networking, DNS, TLS and HTTP
Experience implementing observability across distributed services
Experience with secrets management and least-privilege access
Ability to investigate incidents across application and infrastructure layers
Experience with backup, recovery and resilience testing
Ability to write scripts or tools in a relevant programming language
Strong written documentation and remote collaboration skills
Willingness to participate in a defined on-call or incident-response rotation
Nice to have
Experience operating infrastructure for fintech, payments or regulated products
Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform and GitHub Actions or comparable technologies
Experience with event-driven systems and financial reconciliation
Experience with blockchain nodes, RPC providers or wallet infrastructure
Knowledge of PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001 or comparable control frameworks
Experience with security automation and policy-as-code
Familiarity with database reliability and high-availability design
Experience supporting mobile and web backends at scale
Experience working with third-party banking or payment APIs
