How to Receive App Store Sales Revenue Outside the US

Your iOS app is making sales, but when will Apple actually pay you?

Apple generally pays eligible App Store proceeds within 45 days after the end of the relevant fiscal month. Before that can happen, your Paid Apps Agreement, tax information, receiving account and payout threshold must meet Apple's requirements.

If you're developing apps outside the US, the important question is whether your banking setup is ready before the first payment is processed.

Set up the legal payee and the primary receiving account

Start in App Store Connect with the entity that signed the Paid Apps Agreement. Confirm the legal name and tax information required for that entity. Apple's instructions say to enter banking details as held by your bank and to provide details for your own receiving bank rather than a correspondent institution. An Admin or Finance user can enter information, but the Account Holder may need to approve it. Apple's banking instructions · Apple tax forms guidance

Apple sends proceeds to the primary bank account in effect when the payment is processed and does not split the payment among multiple accounts. If you are changing a bank, coordinate the change with the Account Holder and reconcile pending proceeds before assuming which account will receive the payment. Use the bank details guide and the USD account checklist to prepare the questions for your bank.

How to add your bank account in App Store Connect

  1. Sign in to App Store Connect and open Business.

  2. In Agreements, locate Bank Accounts and select Add Bank Account.

  3. Select the receiving bank's country and complete the required details.

  4. Enter the account holder information exactly as required by the bank.

  5. Submit the details and complete any Account Holder approval that Apple requests.

Apple's forms and available fields depend on the country and bank. Use your bank's actual account instructions instead of assuming every account requires US routing details.

An example for a small studio outside the US

A studio sells a paid app in several App Store territories and bills a US business for a separate integration project. The App Store proceeds belong in the studio's Apple payout forecast, based on its agreement and fiscal reporting. The client invoice belongs in accounts receivable, based on a contract due date and the payment instructions that client can use. If the team buys software using revenue from either source, track the amount actually credited and the exchange rate at which it was made usable. The App Store list price alone does not establish the credited amount.

Comparison of App Store proceeds paid under Apple's agreement and separately invoiced international development work paid under a client contract.

A finance lead adds a new bank record near the end of a fiscal period. The Account Holder approves it later. Check which primary account is active when Apple processes payment and compare that destination with the remittance details. If the payout was already issued to the prior account, contact the institution tied to that payment record first. Updating the settings afterward does not locate the existing transfer.

App Store sales and client invoices are two separate revenue streams.

Apple controls how your app proceeds are paid. If you also build products for international clients, explore walllet's receiving options for those direct payments.

Make the bank conversation specific

Ask the bank: “Can this account receive a payment from Apple's payout partner for the legal entity on my App Store agreement? Which receiving details are current for the currency and country selected, and which charges can appear before the amount is credited?” Ask for bank-issued instructions rather than a list of identifiers you could find online. If your Apple setup requests additional records, compare the request against the authenticated account and confirm any unexpected communication through Apple support.

When choosing between currencies offered in the form, consider expenses and reconciliation. If most bills are in a different currency, find out where conversion occurs and which rate is shown in Apple's report versus the bank record. Avoid making broad savings claims. For one specific payout, you can compare the remitted amount, the credited amount, the date each institution used for exchange and any disclosed fees. Do not treat the difference as one charge until you have reconciled the records.

Separate sales figures from the amount you receive

Sales figures and paid proceeds answer different questions. Use Payments and Financial Reports to see the outstanding amount, remitted amount and applied exchange rates. The sales record tracks commercial activity. The financial report gives you a better starting point for reconciling a specific remittance. Apple also notes that payment reports reflect transactions for which it collected customer payment.

Apple App Store payout timeline from fiscal month close through eligibility and payment processing to the receiving bank, with a general 45-day payment window.

For a hypothetical small studio, record the relevant fiscal month, proceeds after platform adjustments, reporting currency, the amount Apple says it remitted and the amount the bank credited. Ask the bank about any fee or currency conversion you cannot reconcile. That is more useful than projecting what you expect to receive from the price of each download.

Investigate the first missing payment

  1. Check the agreement. An entity change or outstanding paperwork can affect whether Apple can process payment.

  2. Confirm the payment window and threshold. Count from the close of Apple's fiscal month and check the relevant eligibility requirements in the account.

  3. Look for an issued payment. If it exists, capture the amount, currency, destination and reference. Contact the receiving institution using the payment evidence guide.

  4. Separate Apple income from client income. An invoice for contract development goes through its own payer and rail. Use the client payment guide and check the walllet receiving account guide for eligible options. Apple must separately accept any account you plan to enter in App Store Connect.

Where can you find an Apple payment reference?

In App Store Connect, open Payments and Financial Reports and locate the relevant payment. Apple's payment details can include a Transaction ID, also known as a Consolidated Credit Identifier (CCI).

Keep that reference with the payment date, amount, destination bank and currency. It gives Apple and your receiving institution a more useful starting point than a screenshot of the app's sales dashboard.
